Saigon Central Mosque

Musulman Mosque- Saigon Central Mosque was built in 1935

It was originally built for the Indian Muslim community living in Ho Chi Minh City. Located just off the famous shopping street of Dong Khoi, you will find this clean and well-maintained mosque with its four minarets and colorful exterior.

The Musulman Mosque is one of the 12 mosques in Ho Chi Minh City and provides worshipers with a quiet and serene place to practice their beliefs. With a shaded veranda and cold stone tiled floor, it gives you the chance to sit down in peace. If you would like to know more about the Muslim community in Vietnam or their beliefs in general then a visit will give you a good impression. The Saigon Central Mosque is also referred to as the Masjid Musulman or Dong Du Mosque.   Around the mosque you find many small street vendors selling Halal food, such as snacks made of bread and biscuits. Across the street, you will find a Vietnamese Halal restaurant in where you can have a nice tasty meal for lunch or dinner. To visit the mosque you must remember to take off your shoes and wear appropriate clothing. This means that you should not wear short pants or clothing that exposes too much skin, and you should also cover your shoulders and chest.

The combination of architecture between Indian architecture, Middle East and Vietnamese architecture is both elegant and close but equally dignified. The space in this Mosque is quite peaceful, the landscape is also harmonious.
