One of the most stunning sights to see in Central is My Son, Vietnam’s most important site of the ancient kingdom of Champa. Located in the heart of a beautiful valley and surrounded by high mountains ranges, My Son is around 80km from Da Nang city. Letters from the 4th century were found whilst excavating My Son, revealing that complex for offerings and worship of the Hindu god. In 1999, UNESCO conservation protects cultural heritage world. Originally built with wood, they were completely destroyed by fire in the 6th century and restored in the 7th century by Sambhuvarman who rebuilt the temples with locally made bricks. Up to the 13th century, more than 70 similar temples were built, establishing My Son as a sanctuary of Hinduism in the Champa Kingdom.
After lunch, we will visit the Son Tra Peninsula. It is 693m high above sea level, 10km from the center of Da Nang City to the North-East. Visit Linh Ung – Bai But pagoda which is considered one of the biggest pagodas in Da Nang city in both scale and architecture. This pagoda has a combination of modern style and traditional style. From here on a sunny day, you can contemplate the whole city, mountain and Son Tra peninsula. The beautiful landscape creates a unique impression that you cannot find in another place. It can be seen from every place of the city and looks like a mushroom of which cap is Son Tra Mountain and stalk is a beautiful sandy beach that affords an ideal area for bathing, swimming, playing sports and fishing.
