1. Sapa Stone Church: French “Architecture” in the Heart of the Northwest

The ancient stone church in Sapa is also a famous destination in Sapa. Located right in town, visitors do not need to go far to feel the beauty around them. Built during the French period, the church has an ancient beauty, covered with beautiful moss. The Western architectural styles are extremely unique and eye-catching. The corners of the church are all high-end art corners. They can become a great background for you to unleash your creativity with your camera.  Sapa tours  all choose this place so that visitors can experience something new. Step into a different world from the bustling, prosperous outside. The church is like a true European neighborhood, making you unable to help but stop and admire.

The shape and architecture of the church are built in the shape of a cross in the Roman Gothic style. The architecture is expressed in the roof, bell tower, arches… all of which are pyramidal in shape, giving the building a graceful and airy look. The entire church is built of hewn stone (walls, floors, bell tower, church yard, surrounding embankments) connected together by a mixture of sand, lime and molasses. The wall of the right side of the cross is roughened like stalactites flowing down, adding to the natural beauty of the monument. The roof is tiled, the ceiling is made of lime and straw (now renewed). In particular, the ceiling in the bell tower (near the bell) is a mixture of lime, straw, and iron, and has never been repaired.

Every Saturday night, ethnic activities often take place here. In the snowy winter, the church appears in the fog and is covered with white snow, making you feel like you are standing in Europe. Combined with the unique architectural design, many tourists often come here to check in. If you have the opportunity to travel to Sa Pa , especially in the winter when it snows, don’t forget to stop by the Stone Church.
